What Does Root Canal Pain Feel Like?
A root canal can alleviate the pain caused by severe tooth decay. As this video explains, before a root canal is administered, a dentist will look for signs that it is the best treatment method.
When determining if a root canal is needed, a family dentist will ask several questions. Is the patient experiencing hot or cold sensitivities? Do they have biting sensitivity? Are they suffering from sporadic throbbing pain? Depending on the answers, the dentist will move forward with a root canal. During the procedure, the family dentist will remove the infection and damaged nerve. After the treatment has been completed, the patient will no longer feel hot or cold sensation in that tooth, though some sensitivity can remain.
